Carter's baseball journey began in his youth, as a member of the Iowa Sticks Baseball Club. Following his high school graduation from Waukee High School, Carter continued his baseball career at Marshalltown Community College and later at Grand View University. During his time at Grand View, Carter was actively involved in the sports community, serving as the sports coordinator for the nonprofit organization Can Play, where he organized and led baseball camps. Additionally, he coached at various hitting and catching clinics through Grand Slam. Motivated by his passion for coaching and sharing his wealth of knowledge with athletes, Carter embarked on a career path dedicated to coaching upon graduating.
